Concerning “Gravity-Plate 1” and “Gravity-Plate 2”

I am a fan of Simone Weil. The “Gravity-Plate 1” and the “Gravity-Plate 2” are decorative tableware to hang on the wall, as we know them, made to express my love to her and her philosophy. The plates are made specially for her thinking of “Gravity and Grace”, therefore ‘Plate 1’ and ‘Plate 2’. The styrofoam plates – with their own physical heaviness – want to give form, my form, to the importance of the thinking of the soul in her philosophy. Simone Weil said: “All the natural movements of the soul are controlled by laws analogous to those of physical gravity. Grace is the only exeption. Grace fills empty spaces, but it can only enter where there is a void to receive it, and it is grace itself which makes this void.”
